In addition to conventional light sources, such as halogen lamps, fluorescent lamps or compact fluorescent lamps,
there are still different special lamps. UV and UV-C lamps, for example, fall into this category.
UV-C radiation has been used for years to release germs and bacteria from the air and water. UV lamps are also used for the disinfection of surfaces. UV radiation can kill up to 99. 9% of harmful organisms and render them harmless. UV-C rays damage the genetic make-up of microorganisms, preventing them from being able to reproduce and thus rendering them harmless.
Especially since the spread of the SARS-CoV virus at the end of 2019, the use of this technology has proven itself and is gaining more and more acceptance – from the commercial sector to the private household.
At MULTI-LITE we offer you a wide selection of UV lamps here.
But UV lamps are not only responsible for sterilization, there are also various other areas of application of the bulbs: for adhesive curing, for sun simulation or even in terrariums.
Direct UV-C radiation is dangerous for humans and animals
Due to the high exposure to UV radiation emitted, safety measures must be taken during installation. You should always follow the manufacturer’s instructions to ensure proper commissioning.
